Conditions of entry: The Deep Sea Derby is subject to the weather conditions on the day. The Exploration Society reserves the right to postpone or even cancel the event should the weather not be conducive to deep sea fishing. Having said that we recommend you purchase sea sickness pills for the outing irrespective of the weather.

Selecting your boat: There are four boats to choose from capable of having 10 people on each. Communicate with your friends so you can all get on the same boat.

Credit card problems: Sometimes foreign students have trouble using their credit cards on this website. This is not EZregister's fault, the issue lies in using an international credit card in Australia online. If you experience difficulty, please borrow a friend's credit card to make the payment and pay them back. Unfortunately we cannot accept cash payments.

A few words from Hugh

Bond University’s Student Association awarded it with Best Cultural Club 093. Past students have said that its ventures have been the highlight of their time on the Gold Coast. Since forming in late 2008, it has been an extraordinary adventure for The Exploration Society with sea kayaking, surfing, hiking and skydiving already under its belt.

The team has seen some rapid transformations in the New Year, losing one of its more experienced members in Colin Huggard. Although he is hard to replace, some fresh Canadian meat has been injected in the form of Casey Reynolds, Derek Fletcher and Jeff Goit, not to mention our distant graphic designer Cale Davis.

In Orientation Week, the team hosted The Helicopter Lottery, which saw 38 lucky Bond students take to the skies in a helicopter from Bond’s lawns to Surfers’ Paradise and back.

101 will continue to be a massive semester for the society with 4 more events planned. Yet another skydive which you can register for here and sea kayak in Byron Bay, a hike up Mount Warning and a fishing tournament off the Gold Coast all await you. Check out the Events page for all the upcoming events. You will be able to book your tickets for the events in due course. All ticketing will be done online, so stay tuned.
